Dr. Schneider is an expert in the medical management of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, ARFID, and binge-eating disorder. Her approach to evaluation and management is holistic, compassionate, and nuanced, recognizing that size and shape does not alone indicate how healthy a body is. Collaborating with other professionals as a multidisciplinary team, she addresses the myriad physical and mental health aspects of eating and weight disorders.
Dr. Schneider provides initial consultation and ongoing management for patients of all ages who need treatment for their eating disorders, recognizing that many adult patients struggle to find a medical provider with expertise in this field.
For patients with complex needs, Dr. Schneider provides medical supervision and coordination within a treatment team to make sure care is integrated across disciplines. Having worked with many local psychiatrists and therapists, she is able to make thoughtful referrals as needed. These patients typically remain with their primary care provider for routine care and to address acute illnesses.
Dr. Schneider will continue to provide comprehensive health assessments to current primary care patients in the practice, including screening for mental health concerns and risky behaviors. However, she is not accepting new primary care patients at this time.
